Arsee’s little stories 25

The elevator doors came together with a “ting”. He saw her well manicured finger light up number twenty. A whirring sound. A moment. “I don’t care that you are married.” She said. He said nothing… fourth floor… “I don’t care if we never get married, never have children”…seventh… “you don’t have to leave your wife for me”… eleventh… “don’t leave me”. He feel his tears…fourteenth… “I can’t live without you”… seventeenth through tears… “don’t let this go!”… twentieth… Doors open. She steps out, looks at him, heartbreaking. Before the doors close, a decision to make… He take a deep breath. All of life comes down to that one second… just one second…
