Arsee’s little stories 21

“I know you did not murder your Mistress”. He closed his eyes, relieved that someone believed him. The press was calling it the Republic day Murder of 26th January. “You said your wife left you sometime in December?” I could see him nod in the dull light of the prison room. “She says she read about the murder in the papers on the 27th and came back to support you? She did not think you could be a murderer?” He nodded again. “Are you sure she read about the murder in the papers on the morning of the 27th?” “Yes! Why do you keep asking that?” I sighed. How did no one see such a simple thing?!
